‘You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry…’

I used to love watching ‘The Incredible Hulk’ when I was a kid so when I found this forum I was dead pleased! As for why it is that he is green (asked by someone in the discussion), I really haven’t got the slightest idea. To be honest, I had never even wondered why he turned that colour! Funny, isn’t it? I had just automatically accepted that The Hulk was green without ever questioning it.

What I do know is there used to be loads of Hulk jokes going around years ago which were all tied up with him being of a lime-like hue. However, I shall spare you from those…

The other thing that I remember about the show it that when he turned back into David Banner his torn clothes always looked very neat; almost as if the costume department had used a pair of scissors for the ‘rips’ in his shirt and trousers. But, none of that mattered when I used to watch the show. It was always really exciting and I couldn’t wait to see it every week. One of the biggest things about it for me was how David Banner was continually being pursued by Mr. McGee; he was absolutely relentless. Would he ever catch up with him and uncover the secret of ‘The Incredible Hulk’?

There have been lots of comics turned into TV shows and movies over the years, but very few of them have been as successful as ‘The Incredible Hulk’. It may have had its silly moments and naff special effects, but it was all a great deal of fun and it attracted a hell of a lot of viewers each week. There were some very human moments in the show where you actually found yourself feeling quite sorry for Dr. David Banner. Would he ever be free from the curse of ‘The Incredible Hulk’?
